At Barkhan, we fully make use of the Namibian Sun to generate our Power. With a state of the art power plant, we have made sure to generate enough power for our everyday use and to ensure you have power at your fingertips during your stay.

Our water is supplied from our own boreholes and are of the purest drinking quality.

With our recycling plant, we are able to re-use the water from the showers to water our gardens, thus ensuring that we do not deplete our ground water as rain is scarce in the desert.

Our everyday waste is recycled. All paper and plastic waste is burned and glass and tins are packed and transported back to Windhoek to the city’s recycling plant. Food waste is composted and re-used in our gardens.

We are really doing our part for GREEN and SELF-SUSTAINABILITY, YOU MUST INSPECT.

• We get all our energy needs from the Sun, our main PV plant generates almost 25kW’s
• Then we have 2 additional Solar plants to generate energy at other locations.
• We are constructing our own Chicken coop, and our Green tunnels for veggie’s
• Our ground water have tested to a very high standard still, we remove a big % of the lime via a purification plant.
• Even the ice in your drinks is pure, absolutely zero flaking.
• Barkhan also recycle almost 100 cubes of grey water every month already, which we use for the Citrus trees and Gardens.
• All other garbage and food waste are recycled.
• Barkhan keep all our Venison (Gemsbok, Springbok etc) prime cuts at a magic 3° centigrade for between 14 and 21 days before we serve, but never frozen.
• In our super hygienic and world-class butchery we process our own sausage, salami, cheese “russians”, own smoked carpaccio, top class ingredients only.
• We absolutely cater for vegetarians as well.
• We use only bio-degradable detergents and soaps throughout the establishment.
• Zero 5G pollution, we barely have GSM signal on the farm
• Zero Corona virus
• Zero Air pollution
